Stop the attacks on our monuments

Let Zinke know you oppose his attack on our national monuments

The Washington Post recently reported that a leaked memo from Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke recommended “opening up hundreds of thousands of acres of land revered for natural beauty and historical significance to mining, logging and other development” across seven national monuments.

Instead of listening to input from the hundreds of thousands of people who asked him to preserve our monuments for recreation, hunting, and fishing, Zinke sided with special interests that profit from irresponsibly exploiting our public lands. His move would also deal a direct blow to the communities surrounding the monuments who depend on them for jobs and economic growth.

The fight for our monuments isn’t over. But we have to act now to show Secretary Zinke we won’t stand for this. Will you add your name to our petition to tell Sec. Zinke you oppose these attacks on public lands, our greatest national treasure?

While Secretary Zinke may like comparing himself to Teddy Roosevelt, it’s clear that he doesn’t understand how Teddy Roosevelt wanted the Antiquities Act, which created our national monuments, to be used.
