ICYMI: After Ignoring Local Tribes, Sec. Zinke Snaps At Woman Requesting Meeting

Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke’s “listening tour” continues to be met with protesters and locals wondering who exactly he is “listening” to.

During his visit to Bears Ears yesterday, Secretary Zinke was asked when he would meet with tribal leaders. His response? “Be nice,” he told the young woman as he wagged his finger in his face.

“I hope that Secretary Zinke’s ‘review’ of the monuments won’t be as much of a sham as his ‘listening tour’ has proven to be. Tribal leaders deserve to have a seat at the table when it comes to management of our public lands and they deserve more respect than this. Secretary Zinke should immediately apologize and learn how to do more listening and less finger wagging,” said Western Values Project Executive Director Chris Saeger.
