America’s best idea

Will you join us by adding your name to demand that Ryan Zinke stop purging the Interior Department of lifelong employees as retaliation for their political views?

National parks are America’s best idea — and the women and men who pursue careers in the National Park Service deserve to be commended for their service to our parks — and our country.

Unfortunately, Ryan Zinke and the Trump administration are doing anything but commend them. Dan Wenk, Yellowstone National Park’s superintendent who has spent over four decades with the National Park Service, says he is being forced out of his job by Zinke and the administration — and he’s not alone.

A recent investigation found that 16 senior employees who have been forced out of their jobs at the Interior Department thought they were being targeted in acts of political retribution.

It’s downright wrong to end a career of dedicated service without good cause — and Western Values Project is speaking out. Will you join us by adding your name to demand that Ryan Zinke stop purging the Interior Department of lifelong employees as retaliation for their political views?

Ryan Zinke’s mismanagement of the Interior Department is leading our parks to lose some of their most dedicated stewards. There’s simply no good reason to seek political retribution against people who have dedicated their lives to making America’s national parks better.

Working for the National Park Service should not be a political role — but as Dan Wenk can attest, it has become targeted as just that under Ryan Zinke’s leadership.

We need to stand up and speak out. Will you add your name to demand that Zinke stop purging people from the Interior Department as political retribution?
