Take Action Now
Our public lands are often rich with natural resources, and the American public is supposed to be compensated if private corporations profit from those resources.
But under Ryan Zinke’s leadership that simply isn’t happening. Last year Zinke appointed new members to the Royalty Policy Committee, which is supposed to ensure that the “public receives the full value of all natural resources produced from federal lands.” Unfortunately, it seems to be doing just the opposite.
We need to tell Ryan Zinke to stop stacking the deck in favor of oil and gas corporations and extractive industry shills, Friend. Will you add your name to our petition and demand that Zinke make sure American taxpayers receive fair compensation for use of their public lands?
We wish that we were surprised by Zinke’s actions, but it follows a long pattern of putting Washington, D.C. special interests ahead of the American people and our public lands.
But as long as we stand up and speak out, we can put pressure on Zinke to stop the practice of artificially lowering the value of our lands’ natural resources and shortchanging us.
