Recommendation on fate of area to come after over one hundred thousand public comments supporting national monuments submitted

As we celebrate the 111th anniversary of former President Teddy Roosevelt’s hallmark piece of legislation, the Antiquities Act, Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke and President Donald Trump are orchestrating an unprecedented attack on the iconic conservationist’s legacy. Tomorrow, June 10th is the deadline for Secretary Zinke to make a recommendation on the future of the Bears Ears National Monument to President Trump. Most evidence suggests this review was little more than a sham, for which the outcome was decided before the “review” even started.

Since we know Secretary Zinke has been busy with his horse and pony show, we thought he might not have time to finish his report, so we went ahead and drafted a letter for him.
