Yetta Stein

Yetta comes to Western Values Project as a third-generation Montanan and avid public lands user. Most recently, she worked on Senator Jon Tester’s re-election campaign. Before that, she worked to increase campaign finance transparency at  End Citizens United in Washington, DC. She has also interned on Capitol Hill and studied peace and conflict in Haifa, Israel. Yetta is a Portland State graduate where she was chosen as her class commencement speaker.

Yetta has always valued the rivers and mountains that raised her. An avid rock climber and aspiring angler, she sees the intersection of playing on public lands and action to protect those lands as crucial to keeping wide open spaces safe and protected. Western Values Project was the perfect fit for her interest in action, accountability, and the western way of life.

If she’s not in the office, she’s likely handstanding, writing poetry, eating peanut butter, or walking her dog. Yetta is based in Helena, Montana, where she is enjoying the easy access to climbing crags, the great Missouri River, and the friendly community book stores.
